What is Project Management?

As defined by PMI®, project management is the application of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project activities to meet project requirements. Managing a project typically includes the following:

   • Identifying the requirements for the project;
   • Making sure the needs of the stakeholders are met;
   • Well established communication protocols;
   • Managing resources; and
   • Balancing project constraints, which include but
     not limited to:
        o Scope
        o Schedule
        o Budget
        o Quality
        o Resources
        o Risks

Please note, each project is different, and effective management requires the project manager to adapt accordingly.
